Dr. J. Richard Kerr, Ph.D. Electrical Engineering, developed pilotage assist and display technology since 1979 when he joined Flight Dynamics, Inc., the pioneering developer of air transport head-up displays, as VP of Product Marketing.  He later was VP of Engineering/Advanced Development at FLIR Systems, Inc. for 13 years, during which period FLIR grew from annual revenue of less than $2M to more than $200M.  He left FLIR in 2000 to found Max-Viz, Inc., where he served as Chief Technology Officer for 15 years.  Max-Viz dominates the market for non-cryo-cooled, infrared-based Enhanced Vision System (EVS) for both rotary and fixed wing aircraft. Max-Viz was acquired by Astronics Inc. in July of 2012.  Recently Dr. Kerr retired from Astronics Max-Viz, formed Kerr Avionics LLC with partner Lou Churchville, and acquired the rights from ASTRONICS to develop the IQVR product line.
